How to choose cannabis flower in South Africa
Three things decide what ends up in your jar: the grade, how it was grown, and the quantity you buy. Get those three right and the strain name becomes a matter of preference rather than a gamble.
The Amazol grading system
Every batch is graded before it goes on sale, and the grade tells you more about what you are getting than any strain name will.
- AA is our everyday tier. Well-structured buds, clean burn, priced for regular use. If you smoke daily and want consistency without paying top-shelf prices, this is the tier to live in.
- AAA is the top of the range. Denser bud, stronger aroma, more careful finishing and curing. Worth it when you are buying for a specific occasion or you simply want the best in the range.
Greenhouse, organic indoor and veganic living soil
Cultivation method is the second lever, and it is where most of the price difference comes from.
- Greenhouse uses natural light with controlled conditions. It is the best value per gram in the range and the sensible choice for volume.
- Organic indoor is fully climate-controlled, giving tighter consistency between batches than greenhouse.
- Veganic indoor, grown in living soil with plant-based inputs and no animal by-products, is the most labour-intensive method we stock. It is the most expensive per gram and the most consistent batch to batch. Our Azishe veganic range sits here.

Quantity is the third lever, and it moves the price more than most buyers expect.

Two things stand out. Buying AAA greenhouse in a 50g jar cuts the per-gram cost from R60 to R38. And the AAA veganic 5g jar at R80 a gram is materially cheaper than buying six single grams at R150. If you already know the tier you like, size up. If you do not, start with singles.
Same gram, flower or pre-rolled
Our single-gram Azishe lines are sold as a choice rather than two separate products: pick Flower or Pre-roll on the same listing, at the same price. A gram of AAA Glazed Pastries costs R150 either way. It means you can try a strain loose, then order the identical flower ready-rolled next time without paying a convenience premium. Availability rotates with each harvest, so the grid above is always the live list. Currently the AAA veganic indoor tier runs Citradalic, Cherry Whip, Triple Cheese, Glazed Pastries, Mandarin Cookies and Slurricane. The AA organic indoor tier runs NBK, Sunset Sherbert, Wedding Cake, Future Wife and Purple Mimosa.
We do not publish indica or sativa effect claims against these, because the label is a poor predictor of how a specific batch will actually feel. If you want a recommendation for a particular occasion, message us and we will tell you what the current batch is like.

Delivery, collection and payment
Free nationwide shipping applies to every order over R2000. Below that, Pudo economy delivery is R82 and takes three to five working days, and overnight courier is R160. Same-day delivery is available in Gauteng only, charged at Uber Package rates and dispatched from our Sandton or Maboneng pickup points. Curbside collection is available at 239 Commissioner Street, Maboneng, Johannesburg, by WhatsApp confirmation before you arrive.

Where this sits legally
Adults in South Africa may possess and use cannabis privately for personal purposes under the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act (2024). What is the difference between AA and AAA flower at Amazol?
AA is our everyday tier, chosen for consistency and value. AAA is the top of the range with denser bud, stronger aroma and more careful curing. Both are graded before listing.
What does veganic living soil mean?
Veganic cultivation uses plant-based inputs in living soil with no animal by-products. It is the most labour-intensive method we stock, which is why the Azishe veganic indoor range costs more per gram and stays more consistent between batches.
What is the cheapest way to buy flower at Amazol?
The 50g AA Greenhouse jar at R1200 works out to R24 a gram, the lowest per-gram price in the range. The 5g AA Greenhouse pack at R150 is the cheapest entry point at R30 a gram.
Can I buy a single gram to try a strain?
Yes. Azishe AA Organic Indoor singles are R100 a gram and AAA Veganic Indoor singles are R150 a gram, and each listing lets you choose flower or a pre-roll at the same price.
